Cloverdale is a quaint historic town named by William Shannon, one of the first settlers, for the abundant clovers that grew there. Because of its fertile land and temperate climate the town was established as a farming community in 1870.
Cloverdale is home to many heritage sites over the years and is dubbed as the historic centre of Surrey. The town boasts the museum and one of Surrey’s oldest buildings. The most notable landmark is Christ Church, built in 1882 and still stands today.
The charming Cloverdale downtown core is home to small boutiques, eclectic restaurants, and small family businesses. The historic downtown main street - 176th Street is also home to numerous movie and TV productions.
