South Surrey is a neighbourhood of Surrey, but is situated in the Peninsula area that borders White Rock.
Known previously as the retirement capital, it has now become an upscale community with many families and young professionals. The total population is growing rapidly and now sits at over 84,000.
South Surrey comprises most of the Peninsula area with several micro communities such as Ocean Park, Crescent Beach, Elgin Park, Chantrell Estates, Amblegreene, Sunnyside, Morgan Creek, Morgan Heights, Grandview Heights and the rural area of Hazelmere.
Numerous amenities such as Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre have been added and make this area an ideal family oriented and recreation based haven. South Surrey boasts Grandview Corners Shopping Centre with over 70 stores in close proximity to the collective neighbourhoods. The community offers public pools and recreation centres, tennis courts, hiking and biking pathways, parks, Ice rinks, sports fields and a running track.
Five high schools and over ten elementary schools serve the community including Semiahmoo Secondary, Elgin High School, Earl Marriott Secondary School and two private Schools, SouthRidge and White Rock Christion Academy. The city offers a variety of options for your children’s education.
